The Assist Xchange was founded by Kwame Jackson, a Richmond, VA native, who envisioned building a business that not only serves others but also fuels her desire to exemplify a meaningful and fulfilling lifestyle through building a connected, creative community. The concept of The Assist Xchange was born during Kwame’s time working as a Research Analysist. As traditional desk work can breed success and fulfillment in others, it did not leave the same impression on Kwame. One day she sat, staring at her computer screen and then realized that by providing essential services to those in need—whether they are busy parents, entrepreneurs, or physically challenged individuals—she could create a meaningful exchange. This idea of mutual benefit inspired the name “The Assist Xchange,” where providing assistance to others would also allow her to reclaim her time and pursue her own dreams.
At its core, The Assist Xchange offers tailored services to help people manage their daily challenges. With three main packages—Right-Hand Assist (personal household/family assistance), Pro-Hand Assist (small business admin assistance), and Green-Hand Assist (light exterior homecare assistance)—the company is committed to lightening the load for those who need it most. Our mission is to foster a society where people help one another to create more space for personal growth, creativity, and well-being.
Looking ahead, our goal is to expand this community-driven model and empower individuals to focus on what matters most, whether that's family, personal ambitions, or mental wellness. Ultimately, we aim to make Richmond a more inclusive, vibrant place where people thrive both individually and collectively.

Once you've read and settled on the plan that suits you, navigate to the top of the screen and select the "Choose Assistance Plan" button. You will submit an intake form, schedule a consultation (if applicable). After confirmation, you will select the week of your preference to commence service.

As humans sometimes the ball can be dropped and we want to take accountability for that as well as do what we can to correct this for you. Before initiating a refund, we will present options to explore to fix our mistake. After that, partial refunds are granted for the following occurrences:
We cancel your appointments - full refund
Running more than an hour and thirty minutes behind our grace period - 20% of your package cost will be refunded
Task are incomplete/not done to the degree we agreed - 25% of your package cost will be refunded
Our partial refund policy exist as a measure of giving you back what’s fair if we did not deliver on our promise while also accounting for our time and material that we contributed.

We understand life happens so we allow an 8 hour window prior to your appointment to cancel penalty free. Should your notice to cancel be submitted after the allotted time, you will be charged 25% of your package cost to the card on file.

When you complete the intake form, you will also include your grocery store preference, goods quality preference, and grocery/shopping list. Then you will receive a grocery invoice which is what we expect to pay for only the cost of all your groceries/items plus $25-$100 extra in case the cost runs over (although we do expect to avoid this). Whatever is left over, you will be refunded back and will also have a copy of your receipt attached.
We have carefully conducted a research analysis on 6 major grocery stores we shop with, analyzing the cost of their vegetable and fruit produce, meats, dairy, breads, and case water, all to create a concrete and transparent understanding of what we both can expect to pay. This analysis avoids coming up short and having to put vital items back and helps you visually see where we are getting our invoice cost from.

We only ask that we can run water from a hose outside your home to be able to clean outside. We are in the process of being able to run water from our automobile to eliminate you having to provide anything. Other than this, we do not need anything else from you.

By adding your card details on file, this secures your appointment and helps minimize no-shows. This also allows for a seamless transition should we need to process your payment at the conclusion of your service, hassle-free.
